31 Day Challenge: Day 5: Blue Nails!

Good Evening my little rose petals!

Two posts in one day! OMG!

I needed to take off my false nails because the glue had gone all weird around my skin and it was getting annoying, I managed to salvage them however and they are back with a vengeance! I decided to keep it simple with my manicure today!

and here are the polishes I used:

From left to right: Saffron #07: Silver Glitter Specks, Miss Sporty Sparkle Topcoat, Saffron #14: Electric Blue

I used the Electric Blue for the base and then built up the glitter with the Miss Sporty topcoat. Then I used the Silver Glitter specks to accent the tips of the nails, finally finishing it off with a healthy topcoat!

These nails are very sparkly and blue happens to be my favourite colour, so of course I love this mani!

31 Day Challenge: Day 4: Green Nails!

Morning my little rose petals!

Another speedy post today! It's my fourth manicure in the 31 Day Challenge and today's colour is green. Originally I came up with the idea to do Gingham nails based on this tutorial by Nailed It. However I couldn't find any tape and there was no way I was going to be able to freehand the design! So instead I decided to keep it simple. I used Saffron #56: Matte Lime and painted two coats on all my nails. Then I put clear polish on each of the corners of my nails and whilst still tacky I places a white rhinestone on each nail. Finally finishing it off with a top coat to keep the gems in place!

In this picture it kind of looks like I have polish on the skin of my index finger, but that is actually on the nail, for some reason it just doesn't look right...

As a quick side note I received an Anonymous message on Tumblr the other day simply saying, 'your nail polish looks blotchy because your hands are so fat' and that made me laugh! I just wanted to say if you are blogging or are thinking of making a blog then expect that you are going to get these messages from ignorant people. In my case I'm pretty sure who the culprit was, but you may not know. The best thing to do is laugh is off because at the end of the day you are the one that's doing something you love!

31 Day Challenge: Day 3: Yellow Nails!

Just a quick post today hence why the polish doesn't look great! I wasn't going to post today as I've been busy filming all day but then I decided I'd do a quick one considering I'm doing 2 challenges at the moment and need to get through them! I did this in half an hour so apologies for it being a little messy :-)

Yellow is probably my least favourite colour so I decided to make it fun by putting Pikachu on my nails! I just copied photos that I found on google images and used a dotting tool to paint Pikachu! It's that easy! So here it is:

Sorry for keeping it short and sweet but I'd rather have a short post then no post at all! Right I'm off to work now :(

31 Day Challenge: Day 2: Orange Nails!

Good Morning Rose Petals!

It's Day 2! I'm really enjoying painting my nails every day, although I was a bit gutted this morning when I realised I had ruined my false nails this morning :( I have ordered some more though so they will be back soon! Here's today's manicure:

I think I took the 'Orange' thing a little bit literally... I recreated oranges on my nails! I think they look pretty cute if I'm honest! The little brown dots are supposed to be the bumps on the skin of the orange and I think they look alright. They went exactly to my plan which is always nice, although I will only be wearing them for a day as I am starting my Christmas Challenge tomorrow! Here are the polishes I used:

From left to right: Saffron #57: Matte Orange, Saffron #56: Matte Lime, Saffron #25: Chocolate

Once again they are all Saffron Polishes! As I said in my previous post I did order 33 of them so expect to see a lot of them in my 31 Day Challenge manicures! I used #57 as the base and then used a dotting tool and the #56 to create the leafy part of the orange at the base of the nail near the cuticles. Then I used a smaller dotting tool and #25 to create the dots/bumps of the orange! I've been presently surprised by Saffron polishes as I expected that they'd be very difficult to work with considering I got them so cheap. They go on well, and apart from a strange smell that they create, (not necessarily a bad one) they are perfect! The #57 Matte Orange was one of the polishes that I was more excited about wearing and I must admit I love it and I will be wearing it a lot more often (unfortunately for everyone around me). I definitely recommend that if you don't have a lot of money but want lots of different colour polishes that you check out Saffron Polishes at saveonmakeup.co.uk! I'm hoping to complete my Saffron collection soon :) (when I can afford to).

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Day 1: Red Nails!

Hello there my little rose petals!

I'm finally beginning the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge and I'm really excited about it! I've seen this challenge posted on pretty much every single nail blog that I have read and I've been wanting to start it myself for a while now. Check out the image below to see what the challenges are:

One of the main reasons that I had been putting off this challenge for so long is because I physically didn't have the polishes to complete the first 10 days. I really didn't want to start before I had everything I could possibly need and now I do so I can! (Thanks to the 33 Saffron polishes I bought). I should say that there is no way that I will be doing this every single day, I simply don't have the time for that. Also I'm undertaking a Christmas Nail Art challenge which you can find here if you want to join. My aim is to do 2 of the 31 day challenges a week, if I do more then great, but having 3 Christmas challenges a week to complete too is definitely going to be pushing it. Especially since I'm new to this Nail Blogging stuff!

I also have a confession to make before I go into my first manicure. This morning I woke up and was immediately excited about the fact that I was starting this challenge and then I looked at my nails. To my horror my nails had begun to flake and peel, unfortunately my nails are prone to this. So in today's post and probably for the next few days I am wearing false nails. Normally I wouldn't bother because I find that they don't agree with me, but this time I've cut them right down and shaped them (when normally I'd just leave them). I've got to say I'm pretty happy with how they look and feel and I might think of wearing falsies more often!

So here is my first manicure in the 31 Day Challenge! I wanted to keep it simple today mainly because it took my so long to put on the false nails, and partly because I have other things to do today! I was going to go with plain red but I decided I'd get into the holiday spirit and add a little Gold. Here are the polishes I used:

I bought these two in a massive haul from saveonmakeup.co.uk and I bought 33 polishes for £32.67 at 99p each. Considering how cheap they are I was pleasantly surprised at the coverage that the Bright Red gave, I would have been fine using only 1 coat however I decided on 2 to make it stand out more.

The Gold glitter polish was a little more stubborn. I only used 2 coats of it however I feel maybe next time I use it I may venture to use 3 or even 4 coats of it. The glitter itself has 3 different sized pieces in it from tiny, to small, to medium. For 99p each I can't really complain, these two polishes look great together and I even found myself singing Christmas songs as I was painting them on. So I've finally found something that gets me into the Christmas Spirit... Nail Polish!
